Great skin doesn’t come easy, and it surely does not come with just good DNA. Your daily habits have a bigger impact on your skin that you would expect. Surveys suggest that 100% of you have no idea of what you are doing to your skin despite the umpteen products. I’ll admit I made up this survey but I am pretty sure all of you just nodded your heads at that statement.
Following a minimalist approach to skin care can go a long way in treating your skin and giving it a healthy and natural glow. The key? Staying consistent with the routine while using the products in the correct order so they penetrate the skin.

I am a morning person on the right day. But the one thing that never fails to make me feel fresh in the morning? Double cleansing. I start my day using the Shiseido Refreshing Cleansing Water which removes excess make up and dirt followed by the cult favourite Cetaphil Cleanser. Next up comes the treatment products. This central step refers to the creams, gels and serums that needs to penetrate the inner layer of the skin. Thicker consistency products do not allow that. I use my spot treatment gel, Acnedap, even if I do not have acne to help keep my skin clear and mark free. This is followed by a moisturiser if my skin is feeling extremely dry and a moisturising sunblock, Rivela Gel, which contains argan oil and is not sticky or greasy at all. Pro Tip: Wear your sunblock even when you are indoors.
No matter how drunk, tired or lazy you are, do not forget to remove your makeup before going to bed. After a long day of work, I have absolutely no energy left so I opt for an even simpler and quicker routine. I apply my night creams right before going to bed. I, once again, begin with cleansing. At night, the Shangpree S-Energy Cleansing Gel works beautifully. The affordable alternative is the Cetaphil Cleanser. This is followed by the Shangpree Marine Energy Eye Mask to treat eye bags and the Clinique City Block Purifying Charcoal to reduce the appearance of pores. I use each of these twice a week at most. Finally, the Bioderma White Objective and the Dior HydraLife Sorbet Crème are used on alternate nights. The former aids in pigmentation while the latter keeps the skin hydrated, plump and radiant.
